The Winnipeg Wind Ensemble offers several education and outreach programs:

Fehr Access

In partnership with Fehr-Way Tours, the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble is proud to offer the Fehr Access program. Fehr Access allows students from various Winnipeg schools to attend Winnipeg Wind Ensemble concerts at no cost, including transportation from their home school. We are very grateful to official sponsor Fehr-Way Tours for helping us reach students who may not otherwise take part in a live concert experience! For more information about Fehr Access and how you can get involved, please contact us!

Student Solo Competition

An opportunity for students to audition for a chance to perform with the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble.

Guest Ensembles
We are proud to feature guest ensembles performing at every concert.

Gary Pollard Memorial Scholarship

The Gary Pollard Memorial Scholarship is presented by the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble as a tribute to one of the most caring and influential musicians in the ensemble’s history.  The scholarship will recognize a trumpet student from grades 7-12 who makes a strong contribution to his/her school community, has demonstrated consistent musical achievement, and has had a significant impact on their peers, ensembles and overall program.   Manitoba band directors are invited to submit a nomination by completing the application form and including a supporting letter (up to 500 words), which indicates how the applicant has met the eligibility criteria.  The $500.00 award is to be used for private instruction, camp tuition, or a purpose as proposed by the student and approved by the awards committee.  The scholarship will be presented at the final Winnipeg Wind Ensemble performance of the season.

The Gary Pollard Memorial Scholarship applications are due on April 13th, 2020. More information can be found here.
